How to Stop SMS Text Messages
By Christell York
Text messaging has become one of the main means of communicating through mobile phone service. SMS messaging is an optional feature provided by mobile service providers and can be disabled at the customer's request. Disabling or turning off your SMS text service prevents you from being able to send and receive text message to your mobile phone. This feature can be restored at any time through your mobile provider.
Step 1
Log in to your mobile service providers online Web page.
Step 2
Select the "Messaging" or "Preferences" option from your wireless account menu.
Step 3
Select the option to block text messages. Your device will no longer be able to send or receive text messages. If there are multiple phones on your account, select the phone you would like messages blocked on to ensure the messages are blocked from that line.
