How to Stop Getting Mail From Facebook

by Lara Webster

Facebook, by default will send you an email notification each time you receive a new message or comment from one of your friends. Notifications can also be set so that you get an email any time there is activity related to your page. If you are very active on Facebook, the number of daily emails you receive will be high and largely unnecessary as long as you log in to your account at least once a day. Stop getting unwanted emails from Facebook by changing your notification preferences.

Click on the "Account" link located in the top right corner of any Facebook screen after you log in.

Click "Account Settings" in the menu that appears. Go to the "Notifications" tab.

Uncheck the box next to each type of notification in the "Email" column. If you want to receive absolutely no emails from Facebook or any of its applications, uncheck all of the boxes.

Click "Save Changes" at the very bottom of the page when you're done.
