How to Start Windows Wireless Services

by Tiffany Garden

The Windows wireless service is a Windows service that runs in the background of your computer and controls operating system functions dealing with wireless networking. Services may encounter problems turning on or off correctly, which leads to issues with the processes they control. If the wireless service is unable to start, you would not be able to access wireless networks or Internet hot spots.

Go to "Start." Click "Control Panel."

Click "Administrative Tools." You need to be logged into an account with administrator access in order to access this utility.

Click "Services."

Scroll through the list of services until you find "Wireless Zero Configuration."

Right-click this service and click "Start." Right-click the service and choose "Properties." Set the Startup Type to "Automatic" if you want Wireless Zero Configuration to start automatically. Click "Apply," then "OK."
