How to Set Up Outlook Email With Telus

Quickly configure your Telus email account to work with Microsoft Outlook.

Commonly used in business and educational settings, Outlook is personal information management software developed by Microsoft. Most often used as an email client, Outlook supports the sending, receiving, sorting and searching of messages across a wide range of server types, including the IMAP protocol used by Telus. It also offers management tools for calendars, task lists, notes and journal entries. Configuring your Telus account to send and receive email messages through Outlook is a quick process once you understand the required steps and settings.

Click "Tools" in the top menu bar and select "E-mail Accounts."

Select "Add a new e-mail account" and click "Next."

Select the "IMAP" server type and click "Next."

Enter your name and Telus email address in the corresponding fields below the "User Information" heading.

Enter "" (without quotation marks) in the "Incoming mail server" field below the "Server Information" heading.

Enter "" (also without quotation marks) in the adjacent "Outgoing mail server" field.

Enter your Telus user name and password in the corresponding fields below the "Logon Information" heading. Your user name is the same as the portion of your email address that precedes the "@" symbol.

Check the box labeled "Remember password" if you do not want to manually enter this information each time you check for new messages.

Click "Next" to confirm your settings.

Click "Finish" to complete the setup process.
