How to Set Up Optimum Online Email

An Optimum technician generally sets up your primary email address at the time of modem installation. If you installed your own modem, then you can set up a new primary account email address by visiting the Optimum ID Management Center (link in Resources). Up to four additional email accounts can be added to your Optimum Online account, as Optimum Online Boost, Optimum Online Boost Plus and Optimum Online Ultra accounts support up to 14 additional email addresses. Sign in to your Optimum Online account to access your email on the Web.

Create a New Primary Account

Step 1

Navigate to the Optimum Online ID creation page (link in Resources).

Step 2

Enter your Optimum account number into the fields next to "Account Number." You can locate your Optimum account number in the upper right corner of your Optimum billing statement. You may also find your account number on your modem's work order or packing slip.

Step 3

Enter the last name used on the account into the field next to "Last Name," and then enter the phone number associated with your account into the fields next to "Phone Number." Click the "Next" button and follow the instructions, which vary depending on your Optimum Online account type, to finish creating your Optimum primary account.

Accessing Your Optimum Account

Step 1

Navigate to the Optimum Sign In page (link in Resources).

Step 2

Enter your Optimum ID into the "Optimum ID" field, and then enter your password into the "Password" field. Your Optimum ID is the first part of your email address (before the @ syntax). For example, "yourusername" would be the Optimum ID for "[email protected]."

Step 3

Click the "Sign In" button to sign in to your Optimum account and view your email.

Add Additional Email Addresses

Step 1

Log in to the Optimum website with your primary Optimum ID, and then click "Create Additional IDs."

Step 2

Enter an Optimum ID to be used as the new email address, and choose a password for the account. Answer the security questions, and then click "Submit."

Step 3

Enter your information into the required fields in the Personal Information section, and then click "Submit." Once completed, you can begin using the email address right away.
