How to Send a Text From a Private Number

Text messages from your mobile phone are automatically sent with your mobile phone number. You can send free anonymous text messages over the Web using websites including txt2day, Text 'em and AllFreeTexting. These services offer text messaging service with various character limits. While these messages are essentially anonymous, the sites do record the IP address of the computer or cell phone used for security purposes.
txt2day
Open the txt2day webpage and enter the recipient's 10-digit mobile phone number.
Click the drop-down menu and click the recipient's mobile service provider.
Enter your message. Messages can be up to 140 characters including spacing and punctuation.
Click "Send it" to deliver your message.
Text 'em
Open the Text 'em webpage and enter the recipient's C mobile phone number.
Click the drop-down menu and click the recipient's "Mobile carrier."
Enter your message in the "Message" field. Your message can be 155 characters or less.
Enter the security code and click the box to agree to the Text 'em terms of use.
Click "Send message" to deliver your message.
AllFreeTexting
Open the AllFreeTexting webpage and enter the recipient's 10-digit mobile phone number.
Click the recipient's region. AllFreeTexting allows free messages to be sent from the United States or Canada.
Enter your message and click "Send the text." There are no character limits for messages.
