How to Send Out Twitter Messages to All Followers
By Christina Shaffer
Twitter is a popular social networking service that allows users to post tweets and send direct messages to each other. The service does not allow you to send a message to more than one person at a time, though. To send direct messages to multiple Twitter followers, you can use a third-party service, such as Tweet Adder, Twitter Mass Direct Message Sender or Tweet Guru. Due to Twitter's direct messaging limitation, you can send a maximum of 250 direct messages per day. Depending upon the service you choose, you may be required to purchase some form of third-party Twitter software.
Tweet Adder
Step 1
Download and install the Tweet Adder application onto your computer. When the installation is complete, launch the software.
Step 2
Enter your Twitter username and password to log in to the application. Click on the "Open User" toolbar button and select your Twitter username.
Step 3
Click the "Other Messages" link, which is located in the "Messages" pane on the left side of the screen. The "Send Direct Messages" screen will appear.
Step 4
Type your personal message into the direct message text field. Tweet Adder limits you to 140 characters. When you are finished typing your message, click the "Add" button.
Step 5
Enter an amount of followers in the "# to send" box. Due to Twitter's direct messaging restrictions, Tweet Adder will not send more than 250 direct messages in a 24-hour period.
Step 6
Click the "Start" button to send your personal message to your followers.
Twitter Mass Direct Message Sender
Step 1
Go to the Twitter Mass Direct Message Sender website.
Step 2
Enter the recipients' Twitter names in the "Add Your Followers List" text box. You can add a maximum of 250 Twitter followers. When you're finished entering each name, click on "Add Followers" at the bottom of the page.
Step 3
Enter your Twitter username and password into the required fields.
Step 4
Type your personal Twitter message in the "Your Message" box, then click on "Submit my Message." Your message will be sent to your Twitter followers.
Tweet Guru
Step 1
Go to the TweetGuru website and click on "Multi DM," which is located in the "Tools" section.
Step 2
Click on "Sign in with Twitter" and log in to your Twitter account. After you sign in, you will be redirected to the TweetGuru site.
Step 3
Enter your Twitter followers' usernames in the "IDs" field. Though TweetGuru limits your mass direct messaging to 12 recipients, you can contact the service's creator through email and request a higher limit. Due to Twitter's direct messaging restrictions, the maximum number of direct messages you can send in one day is 250.
Step 4
Type your personal message in the "Tweet Message" text box. When you are finished entering your message, click on the "Send Multi DM" button.
