Sending a fax from your computer provides a convenient method for sharing files. The Windows Fax component makes sending faxes an easy process. You can send faxes from your computer as long as you have an Internet connection and a fax modem. Most computer users can view Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Prior to sending a PDF to a fax machine with Windows Fax, you should make sure the program is configured and ready to use.

Step 1

Double-click on the PDF file to open it.

Step 2

Click the "File" option in the PDF window and then click "Print".

Step 3

Click the "Name" drop-down box and then click "Fax". Click the "OK" button.

Step 4

Enter the recipients' information in the "To" and "Fax Number" boxes. Click the "Add" button. You can enter multiple recipients here or use the "Address Book" button to select people from your contact list.

Step 5

Enter a cover page. Click the "Select a cover page template with the following information" check-box. Select the template from the "Cover page template" drop-down menu. Enter a subject line and note and click the "Next" button. Alternatively, skip the cover page by clicking the "Next" button before checking the box.
