How to Retrieve Old Voicemails From an iPhone
By Christina Shaffer
When you delete a voice mail, it may seem like the message is gone forever. One of the major benefits of owning an iPhone, however, is the ability to retrieve old voice mails you deleted accidentally or wished you had saved. To recover the messages, access your voice mail through the Phone app. A copy of each deleted voice mail is saved in the “Deleted Messages” section.
Step 1
Tap the “Phone” icon on the iPhone’s main screen, and then tap the “Voicemail” button.
Step 2
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap the “Deleted Messages” option. A list of deleted voice mail messages appears.
Step 3
Navigate through the old messages, tap the voice mail you want to restore and then tap the “Undelete” option. Repeat this step for each voice mail you want to recover.

Tips
- The iPhone can store up to 40 voice mail messages with a maximum time limit of four minutes per message. Depending on your cellphone carrier, however, a voice mail may be deleted from the phone 30 days after it was first accessed.
