How to Restore a V2i File

by Greyson Ferguson

A V2i file is the particular file format for a ghost file. A ghost file is an exact clone or copy of a different file or drive. The file is primarily used with Norton Ghost Recovery (by Symantec); however, there are other ghost file recovery and restore programs available on the market. One of these products will be required to restore any particular V2i file.

1

Launch the Norton Ghost Recovery program or any other ghost recovery program you have. If you do not currently have one, you can download a trial version of "Ghost Recovery" from the link provided (see Resources).

2

Select "Ghost Recovery" mode and then click "OK."

3

Choose the location or the "V2i" file (or ghost file) and select "Find." Choose "OK" once the scan has completed

4

Select the V2i file you want by checking the box next to its name; then click "Export." This will recover the V2i file.
