How to Restore Bitdefender

by Tyran DeWalt

Bitdefender is an antivirus security suite encompassing online, mobile and system protection. If you are experiencing issues with Bitdefender, it could be the result of improper installation, missing files or conflicting software. The process for getting Bitdefender running properly again is fairly straightforward. If Bitdefender is the only source of antivirus you have, repairing it is very important. Protect your system from malicious infections by restoring Bitdefender.

Press the Windows key, and open the "Control Panel."

Open the "Add/Remove Programs" or "Uninstall a Program" feature.

Locate the Bitdefender software. Highlight it and select "Remove" or "Uninstall." Click "Next" at the prompts to finish the removal. Reboot the system once the removal is complete.

Navigate the Bitdefender website. Download and reinstall your version of Bitdefender (see Resources).

Run the Bitdefender setup file, and agree to the terms of the license. Click "Next" at the prompts, and click "Finish" to launch Bitdefender.

Tip

  • check Reinstall the trial version of Bitdefender if you did not have the full version. Reinstall the trial version, and enter the product key if you had the full version.
