How to Resolve iPhone Freezing Problems

by Paul Ramone

The iPhone is a wildly popular cellular phone that belongs to the group of "smartphones." While the phone is able to handle a number of tasks well, users occasionally complain of freezing problems or glitches with the software. While frustrating, there are ways to resolve these freezing issues.

Attempt to exit the frozen screen by holding the "home" button for six seconds. The home button is just below the screen and is highlighted with the image of a square.

Restart the iPhone. Press the "sleep/wake" button at the top of the phone and the "home" button at the same time. Hold for 10 seconds or until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

Install a run-time memory-clearing application. As you fill the iPhone and use more applications, some processes continue and slow down your phone. Search the AppStore for applications such as "System Activity Monitor" that displays and allows you to free up run-time memory.
