How to Reset a Security Code on an LG Cell Phone
By Cooper Temple
South Korean manufacturer LG makes cell phones that are used with most major wireless providers in the United States, including Verizon and AT&T. The phones come with a pre-installed security code. If you lose your phone or give it to someone else, you may want to reset the code. Whether your LG phone has a touchscreen or standard keys, you can reset the security code by following a few steps.
Step 1
Touch, or select using the directional and "OK" buttons, the "Main Menu" option on your LG cell phone. Select the "Settings & Tools" option from the Main Menu.
Step 2
Touch, or select using the directional and "OK" buttons, the "Phone Settings" option in the Settings & Tools section. Select the "Security" option from the Phone Settings menu.
Step 3
Type the current four-digit security code into the field. Touch, or select using the directional and "OK" buttons, the "Reset Default" option. A warning message will display on the screen of your LG cell phone. Select "OK" after reading the message.
Step 4
Touch, or select using the directional and "OK" buttons, the "Revert" option. This action will reset the default security setting on your LG cell phone and a confirmation message will be displayed.
