How to Reset the Protection in a Denon DRA 685

The Denon DRA-685 AM/FM stereo receiver is equipped with a microprocessor that controls the various functions of the unit. If the microprocessor detects a potential problem, such as a short, it may go into protection mode. After the problem is resolved, you may need to reset the microprocessor in order to initialize and get it out of protection mode.
Turn the Denon DRA-685 receiver off.
Unplug the AC power cord from the wall electrical socket.
Press and hold the "tune up" and "tune down" buttons.
Plug the AC power cord into the electrical socket.
Release the "tune up" and "tune down" buttons after the entire display flashes in one-second intervals.
