Not all television programming today is suitable for a young audience. Many television sets, including Dynex LCDs, have built-in parental control features that allow you to set a password on certain shows. You can reset the password at any time using your television's remote control.

Step 1

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control.

Step 2

Select "Settings" using the left and right arrow buttons, and then press the "Down Arrow" button.

Step 3

Use the arrow buttons to highlight "Parental Controls," and press "Enter" to open the Password screen.

Step 4

Enter the password using the number buttons. The default password is "0000."

Step 5

Use the arrow buttons to highlight "Change Password" and then press "Enter."

Type the old password in the "Enter Old Password" field. Type a new password in the "Enter New Password" field and re-enter the password in the "Confirm Password" field.

  • If you forget your password, you can enter "9999" as the old password and then create a new one.
