How to Reset Media Player Classic

by Andrew Meer

Created by Sourceforge, Media Player Classic is a free multimedia player that closely resembles Windows Media Player 6. You can use Media Player Classic to do almost any task that you can do with other media players. Media Player Classic stores its settings inside a configuration file labeled "mplayerc." If you want to reset the settings in Media Player Classic, you have to delete this file.

Close the Media Player Classic window if it is open.

Click "Start" and type "mplayerc.ini" into the search box on the "Start" menu.

Right-click the search result labeled "mplayerc" to open up a context menu.

Click on the option labeled "Delete" and then click "Yes" on the "Delete File" message box to reset Media Player Classic.
