How to Reset an LG Esteem from MetroPCS
By Tammy Columbo
If you intend to trade in or sell your Metro PCS LG Esteem, perform a hard reset to remove all of your data and files. If you have forgotten your password, or you experience app or screen problems, a hard reset can resolve your issues by restoring original operating system files and software. Before performing the hard reset, try a soft reset. Simply power off the Esteem and allow the device to remain off for a few minutes. Power the phone back on to complete the soft reset. The soft reset does not delete any data and will often resolve performance issues. If the soft reset does not resolve the problem, a hard reset is necessary.
Step 1
Press the Power key, and then tap “Power Off.” Press “OK” to turn off the LG Esteem.
Step 2
Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons at the same time.
Step 3
Press and hold the Power key. Release the Power key when you see the LG logo screen. The message “Permanently Erase User Data & Reset Settings?” is displayed.
Step 4
Press the Power key to start the hard reset. The confirmation screen is displayed.
Step 5
Press the Power key to confirm. The “Confirmed” message displays. The LG logo is displayed before the phone turns off. When the phone powers back on, all user data is deleted and original settings are restored.
