Because the lamps that illuminate Panasonic rear-projection TVs have limited life spans, the lamp timer – which keeps track of the hours the bulb has been in use – is a handy feature that ensures you won’t be caught off guard in the middle of movie night or a big game. However, this feature is worthless if you replace the bulb without resetting the lamp timer. By following a few simple steps to restart the countdown, you won’t have to risk being shut down in the midst of your favorite program.

Point the remote control at the TV and simultaneously press and hold the “Volume” down and “PIP” buttons for at least five seconds. Note: For models PT-43LC14, PT-50LC14 and PT-60LC14, substitute the “Split” button for the “PIP” button.
