How to Reset a Kyocera Hydro
By C. Taylor
Kyocera included a hard reset method for restoring factory defaults in the Hydro smartphone. This method operates outside of the normal Android operating system, so it is available even if you no longer have access to the system, such as after forgetting a password or having a unrecoverable system error. Performing this reset erases all data on the phone and restores the original operating system.
Power down the Kyocera Hydro smartphone. If the phone is frozen, pull out the battery, wait a few seconds and reinstall it to ensure the phone is off.
Press and hold the "Volume Down" button and then hold down the "Power" button.
Release the buttons after a few seconds when you see the Android System Recovery screen.
Press the "Volume Down" button to highlight "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" and then press the "Power" button to select it.
Select "Yes -- Delete All User Data."
Select "Reboot System Now" to complete the reset.
- To perform a reset within the Android system, select "Home | Menu | System Settings | Backup & Reset | Factory Data Reset | Reset Phone | Erase Everything."
