How to Repair Sandisk CF Card Software

by Steven Diggs, Jr.

SanDisk Extreme Pro CompactFlash cards are used in some digital cameras to store information. They come with software called the Power Core Controller, which increases the card's buffering capacity. When the Power Core Controller stops functioning, the card will receive an error. Formatting the card will reset the card to its factory settings, removing the error. You will need to connect the card to a computer. Some computers have a CompactFlash card slot. If yours does not, you can use a USB-based multicard reader that has CompactFlash support.

1

Insert the CF card into the CF slot. If you are using a multicard reader, connect the CF card into the reader, then plug the reader into the computer's USB drive.

2

Click the blue button and click "Control Panel."

3

Select the “System and Security” option. In the next menu, click “Administrative Tools.” In here, double-click “Computer Management.”

4

See a list of drive connected to the computer by left-clicking "Disk Management" in the left window pane. Right-click the CF card and click "Format."

5

Press "OK" to format the CF card to its factory settings.
