A SIM card serves as a removable memory card for cell phones. Using your SIM card, you can store and transfer information, meaning you won't have to start from scratch if you get a new cell phone. SIM cards also allow your phone to connect to your selected network. The SIM card in your iPhone is removable. If your iPhone is an iPhone 4, you'll find the iPhone drawer on the side of your phone. All older models have the drawer on the top.

Push the SIM ejection tool into the hole on the SIM card drawer on your iPhone. If you don't have a SIM ejection tool, substitute it with a straightened paper clip.

Push on the SIM ejection tool until the SIM card drawer opens slightly.

Pull the drawer the rest of the way open.

Remove the SIM card from the drawer.

Push the SIM card drawer closed gently until you feel it click shut.
