How to Remove CDFS from a Flash Drive (4 Steps)
By TS Jordan
Removing a CDFS (CD file system) from a flash drive can be necessary to allow you to use all the available storage space on the drive. You do this by reformatting the drive to the FAT32 file system, a process that is completed by using the disk format tools in your operating system. It should take about five to 10 minutes to remove CDFS from a flash drive.
Step 1
Plug the flash drive into your computer's USB port.
Step 2
Click "Start," "Computer," and right-click the drive letter of the USB drive.
Step 3
Select "Format."
Step 4
Select "FAT32" from the file system menu and press "Enter" to reformat the drive, removing the CDFS file system from the drive.
