How to Reinstall eRecovery

Acer eRecovery helps recover a computer from a damaging crash or error. It creates and recovers backups to restore a computer. If you lost your eRecovery program, you can add it to your Acer again. The Acer website offers downloads of its pre-installed applications so you can start using the program again. The Acer eRecovery programs works on computers installed with the Windows XP operating system. Follow these quick steps to restore the program to your Acer.

Uninstall any "Empowering" software that exists on your computer. Open "Add-Remove Programs," select the "Empowering" program and click "Remove." You may need to restart your computer.

Download and install the "Acer Empowering Technology Framework" file that corresponds to your computer (see Resources).

Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Download and install the "Acer eRecovery Management" file that corresponds to your computer.

Restart the computer again.
