How to Recycle a Innovera Toner Cartridge
By Bonnie Conrad
Innovera toner cartridges can be good replacements for name brand cartridges but when that cartridge reaches the end of its useful life, you should not simply toss it out with the trash. The powder used in toner cartridges can be harmful if it enters the environment, so taking the time to recycle the cartridge is important. As a printer owner, you have a number of options for recycling your used Innovera toner cartridge.
Remove the new toner cartridge from the box and check the bottom of the box for a prepaid shipping label. Some toner cartridges ship with a prepaid shipping label you can use to ship the old cartridge back.
Visit your local office supply store and ask if they sponsor a recycling program for used toner. Many office supply stores have their own in house recycling programs that allow customers to bring their old cartridges in for recycling.
Contact your local library and ask if they have a toner recycling program in place. Many public libraries take in toner cartridges and use them as fund raisers.
Place the used Innovera toner cartridge in a plastic bag, or wrap it in plastic wrap to protect it during shipping. Place the toner cartridge in he box and tape the box shut securely. Affix the prepaid shipping label if you are mailing the cartridge. Otherwise take the toner cartridge to your local office supply store or library.
