How to Recover a Forgotten Wireless Internet Password
By James Stone
Your wireless Internet password is the encrypted security pass phrase that was set up when you installed your wireless router. Your router allows you to access the Internet. If you have access to more than one wireless network, you may need to remember multiple passwords. If you happen to forget one password, you have two options: reset your password or locate the current password. Windows 7 allows you to view the security characters of all your wireless network passwords.
Click the "Wi-Fi" network icon located on the Window's taskbar.
Right-click the name of your network's "SSID" name and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu.
Click the "Security Tab." The network security key is now visible but unreadable.
Click the "Show Characters" check box and this will reveal your wireless password.
- This method works for Windows 7 computers only. Computers running older versions of Windows will not be able to use this method.
