How to Record a Voice Mail Greeting for MagicJack

MagicJack is a voice over Internet protocol, or VoIP, service that can use your Internet connection to make free local and long-distance telephone calls in the United States and Canada. It has built-in voice mail, with a few advanced features, including the ability to email you MP3 recordings of your voice mail messages to the address you specify.
From Your Computer
Step 1
Launch the MagicJack software on your computer.
Step 2
Press the "Vmail" button.
Step 3
Press "0" to personalize settings.
Step 4
Enter your password when prompted. The default password for MagicJack is "1234." Enter that password if this is your first time setting up voice mail.
Step 5
Press "0" to get your mailbox options.
Step 6
Press "1" to record a message that plays when you are unavailable, or press "2" to record a message when you're busy. The first message plays when your Internet connection is out, and the second plays when you're on another call.
Step 7
Press the "#" key to end the recording.
Step 8
Listen to the recording by pressing "1" again, and press "2" to accept the message or "3" to re-record your message. Repeat this process until you're happy with your message.
Step 9
Press "*" to go back to the main menu; there are other messages you can record. If this is your first time using MagicJack, press "5" and reset your password.
From a Telephone
Step 1
Dial your 10-digit MagicJack phone number.
Step 2
Press "0" to personalize settings if your phone is directly connected to the MagicJack device. Press "*" if you are doing this from a different phone.
Step 3
Enter your password when prompted. The default password for MagicJack is "1234." Use that password if this is your first time setting up voice mail.

Press "0" to get your mailbox options.

Press "1" to record a message that plays when you are unavailable, or press "2" to record a message when you're busy. The first message plays when your Internet connection is out, and the second message plays when you're on another call.

Change The Email Address Voice Mail Messages Are Sent To
Step 1
Log in to your MagicJack account by logging in to the MagicJack website.
Step 2
Click on the menu for "Call Features" and select "Voicemail." You'll go to the settings page on the website.
Step 3
Click on the "Manage Email" link.
Step 4
Enter your email address. By default MagicJack uses the email address you used to set up your account. You can add additional email addresses to this list and set the default one for notifications.
