The iPod is a landmark technological device because of its immense popularity and widespread availability within society. The most current version of Apple's iPod, as of March 2010, stores music, pictures and videos and can even surf the web. To record your music library to the hard drive of your iPod, you simply need to connect your iPod to your computer and transfer the songs from the free iTunes application. You can easily record your entire music library onto the iPod within an hour.

Step 1

Connect your iPod to your computer using the provided USB connection cable.

Step 2

Open the iTunes application on your computer. If you do not have this application, you can download it for free from Apple's website or install the copy on the CD provided with your iPod.

Step 3

Select "iPod" under the "Devices" menu on the left side of the iTunes application by clicking it once.

Step 4

Click "File" from the top of the iTunes application and select "Sync" to begin transferring your music library to the iPod.

Step 5

Safely disconnect your iPod when the transfer is complete by clicking the eject icon to the right of the word "iPod" under the "Devices" section in iTunes.
