Google Chrome is a web browser that can be used to view a variety of different Internet content. However, not all content is natively visible with the basic Chrome installation. To properly view certain web content, it is necessary to download an additional program or plug-in for the browser. RealPlayer is a media player that can be compatible with Google Chrome after it has been installed on the computer and the plug-in has been enabled in Google Chrome.

Step 1

Open Google Chrome and navigate to the RealPlayer download page (see Resources).

Step 2

Click the "RealPlayer Free Download" button in the top-right corner of the Chrome browser window.

Step 3

Select the "Save" button in the pop-up window at the bottom of the Chrome browser window.

Step 4

Double click the "RealPlayer.exe" icon at the bottom of the Chrome browser window after the download has completed.

Step 5

Follow the prompts from the installation wizard. You will need to close the Chrome browser during the installation for the plug-in to be added to the browser.

Step 6

Open Google Chrome.

Step 7

Click in the address bar at the top of the Chrome browser window, then type "about:plugins" (without quotes) and press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. No additional wording, such as "http://," is required.

Step 8

Scroll to the "RealPlayer" plug-in, then click the "Enable" link listed underneath it. If this link says "Disable," then RealPlayer is already configured to work with Chrome.
