How to Set Up a PayPal Account Outside the USA?

By Ian Moore

PayPal is an online money transfer and banking system that is most commonly used for online transactions and business. Although PayPal was founded in the United States, it is still one of the most preferred methods of payment and money exchange in the world. Currently PayPal offers accounts to 17 countries including Germany, France and Poland. Signing up is not difficult and the process is similar to that for U.S. accounts.

Go to the PayPal worldwide website and make sure that your country is listed in the PayPal localized network. If it is listed, click on the country to transfer to that country's PayPal site.

Click on the "Sign Up" link to begin registration. Choose your country or region, language, and type of PayPal account that you want. These include Personal, Premier, and Business.

Enter your personal information and credit card number. Click the button that says "Agree and Create an Account."

Check your bank account for two deposits made by PayPal. These will only be a few cents and its purpose is to verify your bank account. Log in to your account and click "Profile," then "Bank Accounts." Enter in the amount of the deposits made by PayPal to confirm your bank account.
