How to Print a Test Page From an HP Deskjet 5650
By Bonnie Conrad
No matter what you use your HP LaserJet 5650 printer for, knowing how to print a test page is a valuable troubleshooting tool. If you send a job to your printer and receive no response, printing a test page directly from the printer will instantly tell you whether the problem lies with the printer itself, or with the communication between the printer and the PC. The test page will also give you information about the page count on the printer and allow you gauge the quality of the print and the level of ink remaining in the toner cartridges.
Turn the LaserJet 5650 on, if it is not already on. Load plain paper in the paper tray.
Press and hold the "Power" button on the front of the LaserJet 5650. Press the "Resume" button four times.
Wait for the test page to print. Check the test page to evaluate the quality of the printout and determine whether or not the toner cartridge needs to be changed.
