How to Post Ads on Craigslist & Backpage

Craigslist and Backpage are online directory services that you can use to publish classified ads, publish personal ads, post resumes and look for jobs. It's free to publish most ads on both sites, although Backpage charges a fee for certain services such as personal ads. You can publish a local ad on either Craigslist or Backpage using your favorite web browser.
Post on Backpage
Navigate to www.backpage.com and click the link to the metropolitan area in which you would like to post an ad.
Click the "Post an Ad" button at the top of the browser window.
Click the link for the section of Backpage that you want to post to, then click the subcategory that you is most appropriate for your post and click the location that best corresponds with your location.
Fill in the advertisement form. You must provide a title, a description of your ad, an email address and a valid phone number. You may optionally specify a selling price, provide location and address information.
Click the "Browse" button to locate an image that you wish to upload to your ad from your hard drive. You can upload up to four pictures.
Click the "Continue" button twice to submit your ad to backpage.com.
Check the email account that you provided to Backpage and open the email from backpage.com. Click the activation link provided in the email or copy and paste the link into your browser's address bar. Your ad is now active on backpage.com.
Post on Craigslist
Navigate your web browser to the Craigslist.org website and click the "post to classifieds" link in the upper-left of the browser window.
Click the radio button next to the type of ad that you would like to post, then click the subcategory that is most appropriate for your ad.
Complete the ad form. You must type a title for your post, an e-mail address at which you may be contacted, and a "Posting Description" that fully explains your ad. You may also click the "Add/Edit Images" button to upload an image that goes along with your post. Click "Continue" twice to submit your ad to Craigslist.
Check the email account that you provided to Craigslist and open the email from craigslist.org. Click the activation link provided in the email or copy and paste the link into your browser's address bar.
Click "Accept" to accept the terms of agreement, then type the captcha characters into the text box and click the "Continue" button. Your ad will be posted to the specified category within 15 minutes.
