Sony Bravia televisions include a USB input for playing music from an external device, such as a flash drive or MP3 player. Depending on your television model, you can also watch videos and view photos saved on the device. If you lost or discarded the user manual for your Sony Bravia, however, playing the files on your external device can be a little tricky. USB playback on Sony Bravia televisions can be accessed through the Home menu. After you access the Home menu, you can view your music collection and begin playing your favorite songs directly through the television’s speakers.

Step 1

Insert the flash drive in the open USB port on the back of the Sony Bravia television. If you want to play music from an MP3 player, connect the player to the television by using the device’s USB cable.

Step 2

Click the “Home” button on the remote. Scroll to the Music option on the Home screen and then press the “+” button on the remote. A list of files and folders saved on the external device will appear on the screen.

Step 3

Select the folder that contains the MP3s and click the “+” button. If you’re using an MP3 player, the folder is often labeled “Music.”

Step 4

Scroll through your MP3 files and select the song you want to play by pressing the “+” button. The song will begin playing automatically.
