How to Find Out the Phone Number of a SIM
By Matt McGew
A subscriber identity module (SIM) card is a chip inserted into Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM) cellular phones. The chip allows cellular service providers to identity subscribers using their networks. If you have a GSM phone with a SIM card, you can find out the phone number associated with the SIM card by calling your cellular service provider. A caller ID service can also identify the phone number associated with the SIM card.
Step 1
Insert the SIM card into the SIM card compartment of a GSM cellular telephone. The SIM compartment is typically under the phone's battery. Consult the phone owner's manual if you can't locate the SIM card compartment.
Step 2
Dial "611" and press the "Send" key on the cellular phone. In the United States, this will automatically connect you with the customer service phone number for your cellular service provider.
Step 3
Verify your identity. Before the customer service representative will give you the phone number associated with your SIM card, he will ask you a series of questions to verify your identity. You can only receive the phone number if you are an authorized user of the account.
Step 4
Ask for the phone number associated with your SIM card. Since the SIM card identifies the subscriber to the cellular network, the customer service representative can give you the phone number associated with your SIM card.
Step 5
Call another cell phone or land line that subscribes to a caller ID service. Look at the Caller ID display or ask another person to look at the caller ID display. The number on the display is the phone number associated with your SIM card.
