How to Open a PDF in Explorerby Guy Gardner
Portable Document Format (PDF) is a format that allows electronic information in the form of documents to be transferred between different computers and operating systems, often over the Internet. The format was developed by Adobe and requires Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader to run. As long as you have Adobe Acrobat installed, you should be able to open any PDF files through any Web browser, including Explorer.
Install Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0.1 or later. Uninstall older versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader before installing the newer version.
Open Internet Explorer. Click on "Tools" and select "Manage Add-ons." Select "Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer." Click on "Adobe Acrobat Control for ActiveX" (pdf.ocs) to enable Adobe Acrobat.
Restart Internet Explorer. Click on the PDF file and select "open."
