How to Open a File on an SD Memory Card

Secure Digital (SD) memory cards can store many different file types for play on your computer. They can store anywhere from 1 to 32 gigabytes and are used in notebook computers, digital cameras and camcorders, media players and other portable devices.

Insert the SD card into your computer's card reader. It will only fit one way.
Click the "Start" button and then click "My Computer" or "Computer."
Double-click your SD card under "Devices With Removable Storage."
Double-click the folder containing the file you want to open.
Double-click the file that you want to open or view with the default program or right-click the file and choose the program under the "Open With" menu.
