How to Open Docx Files
By Oxana Fox
Files with the extension "docx" are a new format for the Microsoft Word documents that has been designed to improve the file size reduction. The latest Microsoft Word was released as a part Microsoft Office 2007 and is popular word-processing software for creating, editing and printing documents. Microsoft Word versions prior to Office 2007 cannot open "docx" format files.
In Windows Vista/XP, click "Start" and open "All Programs."
Click "Microsoft Office" and then "Microsoft Office Word 2007" to open this application.
Press "Ctrl-O" on the keyboard. Browse your computer and find a Word document with the extension ".docx." Double-click on the file to open it.
