How to Find a Number From an Address

by Pamela Henman

Because telecommunications companies collect publicly available information like telephone numbers, street names, addresses, ZIP codes and more to aggregate in directories, it is easy to find a person’s contact information. If you only have someone’s physical address but need a telephone number as well, you can find that information online or by speaking with an operator. Keep in mind that most reverse search directories are unable to find a mobile phone number because there is no mobile phone directory as of November 2010.

1

Navigate to a website that provides free directory assistance (see Resources) or use a search engine and search for “reverse address."

2

Click on the “Reverse Address” or “Reverse Search” button.

3

Enter the street address, city and state in the required fields and hit the “Search” button.
