How to Get Microsoft Office to Work After a System Recoveryby Mercedes T. Green
You may find that some or all of your programs fail to run after you perform a system recovery on your Windows computer. This happens when the Windows system recovery tool overwrites some of the files that Office needs in order to run properly. In most cases, this can be solved by repairing or recovering the damaged or missing files. This is not as difficult as it may sound because the Microsoft operating system and Office program have repair and recovery options available for your use.
Log on to the computer as an administrator. Click the "Start" button from the desktop in the lower left corner of the screen. Select "Control Panel." Choose "Add or Remove Programs."
Highlight "Microsoft Office" in the "Add or Remove Programs" window. Click the "Change" button.
Select "Repair" from the displayed window. Click the "Continue" button. The repair process will run for several minutes.
Click the "Close" button. Select the "Yes" button to reboot the computer.
- close Do not stop the process or turn off your computer while the repair is still running.
