How to Make a Photo Slideshow Viewable on DVD Player
By Kara Page
Photo slideshows are fun to create. They can be a way to show off family pictures or to make an impressive presentation with images and graphics for work. Whatever the purpose for your photo slideshow, you may want to make it viewable on a DVD player. For that, you will need to burn your slideshow to a DVD. The steps for burning a slideshow DVD differ slightly for Macs and PCs.
Burn Slideshows to DVD: Windows
Open your photo slideshow in Movie Maker, Window's free slideshow creation software.
Place a blank DVD in your computer's drive.
Select the "Finish Movie" link in the Movie Maker window, followed by "Save to My Computer." Type a name for your photo slideshow in the field.
Click on the icon that represents your blank DVD in the window and click "Save." You may need to wait a few minutes for the slideshow to burn to the DVD.
Eject the DVD from your computer when the burning is complete. Place the DVD in your DVD player to view your slideshow.
Burn Slideshows to DVD: Apple
Open your photo slideshow in iMovie, Apple's free slideshow creation software.
Place a blank DVD in your computer's drive.
Select "Share" (in the toolbar) and click on "Send to iDVD."
Open iDVD, another free, pre-installed program on your Mac computer. Click to open your slideshow, which you will see by title in the main menu of iDVD. Click "Burn." You may need to wait a few minutes for the slideshow to burn to the DVD.
Eject the DVD from your computer when the burning is complete. Place the DVD in your DVD player to view your slideshow.
