How to Make a PES Format From a JPEG

by Laurel Storm

Although Brother, Babylock and Bernina embroidery machines come with several default designs, you might find yourself wanting to embroider your own personalized design using the machine. To do this, you must convert your design from a commonly-used image format such as JPEG to the specialized PES file format used by the embroidery machines. Since this file format contains stitching information, you will need a special program to convert the image.

Step 1

Download and install a digitizing program for embroidery machines, such as Stitch Era Universal.

Step 2

Launch the program and open your JPEG image.

Step 3

Convert the image into an embroidery pattern using the program.

Make any necessary adjustments and save the image in the PES format.
