How to Make an HD Antenna Work Better

by Joshua Phillips

High-definition televisions paired with high-definition antennas can pull in over-the-air HDTV signals. As with regular TV antennas, certain adjustments to a high-definition antenna can result in better picture quality.

Place the antenna near a window with minimal outdoor obstructions to get the best possible reception.

Adjust the antenna's receptors to point to a nearby broadcast tower if you know where one is located.

Avoid using a cable splitter. This will decrease the signal's quality.

Adjust the antenna at different times throughout the day.

Examine the cable inserted into your antenna to ensure there is no damage such as cuts or bends. This also will hamper the signal's quality.
