How to Make Apps on the iPhone Bigger

If you are having trouble viewing your iPhone screen or you'd like to make the tiny icons and text a bit larger, you can activate the Zoom feature on the phone to magnify any part of the screen desired. The Zoom feature lets you magnify the home screen as well as any open app or browser window, and you can control how far in or out you zoom as needed.

Turning On the Zoom Function

Step 1

Tap the "Settings" icon.

Step 2

Go to "General" and choose "Accessibility."

Slide the Zoom switch to "On."

Using the Zoom Function

Step 1

Double-tap your screen with three fingers to activate Zoom.

Step 2

Double-tap the screen with three fingers and then move your fingers up to zoom in or down to zoom out.

Step 3

Swipe the screen with three fingers to scroll the screen.

Double-tap the screen again with three fingers to turn Zoom off.

  • In your Accessibility settings, you will also find a "Large Text" option that enables you to increase the default size of the icon text as well as the font size of your text messages.
