Why Does My Internet History Keep Disappearing?
By Benny Taylor
If you continually notice that your Internet history is not available, it is probably due to an incorrect setting in your web browser. You browser may be set not to maintain your history.
Background
Web browser programs are able to keep a history of the websites you have visited so you can refer back to them and revisit the sites later. It is possible to delete your browser history manually, which some users choose to do for privacy reasons.
Settings
If your history disappears, check the settings page of your web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox). It is likely your browser is configured to keep your history for only a short time or not store your history at all. You can adjust the number of days for which your history is maintained.
Alternative
If your computer is shared with other users, it may be that someone else is manually clearing the history after browsing the Internet. Check with other people who use the computer to see if this is the case.
