Instructions for the Canon ImageRunner 1025IF

The Canon ImageRUNNER 1025iF is a multi-functional device that produces black and white copies at 25 pages per minute. Once connected to a computer or network, the 1025iF can serve as a 25-page per minute printer and fax machine, and has the ability to perform network scanning in color and in black and white. It comes with a 250-sheet paper drawer and an automatic document feeder.

Making Copies

Step 1

Press the "On" or "Energy Save" button to turn on the device. Examine the paper tray to make sure that the tray is full.

Step 2

Place up to 50 pages of letter-sized paper face up in the automatic document feeder. Examine all documents to verify that they are free of staples and paper clips.

Step 3

Press keys on the numeric keypad on the front panel of the copier to enter the number of copies you want to make. You can enter up to 999 copies.

Step 4

Press the green "Start" button to make copies.

Sending a Fax

Step 1

Place the documents you wish to fax face up into the document feeder.

Step 2

Press the "Fax" button located on the main panel of the 1025iF. This will bring you to the faxing menu.

Step 3

Press keys on the numeric keypad to under in the fax number where you wish to send the fax. Enter a "9" before the fax number if you need to reach an outside line.

Step 4

Press the green "Start" button. The 1025iF will scan your documents into memory. Once all the pages scan, the fax modem will dial the number you entered. If the machine makes a connection, the fax board will transmit the pages to the receiving fax machine.

Printing

Step 1

Insert the installation disks that came with your device to install the printer/scanner drivers on each computer that you want to be able to print to or scan from the Canon 1025iF. These drivers are operating system specific. If you do not have access to the installation disks, you can download the drivers for your computer's operating system from Canon's website.

Step 2

Open a document that you wish to print. Examine the document to see if you need to make any edits before printing the document.

Step 3

Press the "File" button located in the upper left-hand corner of the open application window. This will open a drop-down menu with several options.

Step 4

Click on "Print" from the drop-down menu. This will open up a list of available printers connected to your computer.

Step 5

Click to highlight the Canon 1025iF from the list of available printers. The print interface will open on your screen. Enter the number of copies you want the 1025iF to print out and click the "Print" button on the bottom of the dialog box.

Scanning

Step 1

Place the documents you want to scan face up into the automatic document feeder. All documents need to be free of staples and paper clips.

Step 2

Press the "Scanner" button located on the mail panel of the 1025iF. This will bring up the scanner interface menu.

Step 3

Press the "Settings" button and select the scanning options that you want. Options include color or black and white scanning, pdf or TIFF file format, and the location where you wish to send the scanned images. If your IT staff created a shared networked folder, a shortcut icon will display on the 1025iF screen. Press the shortcut icon to scan directly to the shared folder. You can also enter an email address if you want to email the scanned image.

Step 4

Press the "Start" button once you have entered all settings.
