How to Install Windows Photo Gallery
By Jedadiah Casey
Windows Photo Gallery is part of the Windows Live Essentials 2011 software suite, which is available for free from Microsoft. While the entire suite must be downloaded, the Windows Photo Gallery component can be installed by itself. The Windows Photo Gallery software allows you to perform basic photo editing and photo management with your collection of photographs. Windows Photo Gallery also makes it easy for you to share your photos with others.
Download Windows Live Essentials 2011 (see "Resources" below).
Double-click the downloaded file to launch the installer program.
Click "Choose the programs you want to install."
Select the programs you wish to install. If you are only interested in installing Windows Photo Gallery, deselect all options except for "Photo Gallery and Movie Maker."
Click the "Install" button; the software simultaneously downloads and installs.
Click the "Close" button after the installation is complete.
- Installing the 2011 version of Windows Photo Gallery automatically upgrades any previous versions of the software that may be on your computer.
