How to Install a Sony DVD Player
By Marshal M. Rosenthal
The Sony DVD player operates in much the same manner as other DVD players once it has been connected to a TV. A single cable is all that is needed--the cable is included with most DVD players, but it can be purchased from an electronics store if necessary. No special skills are needed to install the Sony DVD player , nor is any warranty on the TV violated by doing so.
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI output on the back of the Sony DVD player. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI input on the back or side of the TV.
Turn the TV on. Press "Menu" on the TV remote control. Select "Video" from the choices on the screen. Select "Video Input" from beneath "Video." Select "HDMI" from the list of choices beneath "Video Input." Press the "Menu" button again.
Turn the Sony DVD player on. Press the "Menu" button on the DVD remote control. Select "Video" from the choices presented. Select "Video Output" from beneath "Video." Select "HDMI" from beneath "Video Output." Press the "Menu" button.
Tips
- If you are using traditional red, yellow and white RCA cables instead of HDMI, be sure to choose the right option on your TV and DVD player menus.
