How to Install a Samsung Monitor
By Hollan Johnson
While older Samsung monitors needed a CD-specific driver to work properly on your PC, the new Samsung monitors that work on Windows Vista and Windows 7 no longer need them. Plug-and-play drivers allows you to plug in your new Samsung monitor and find the right driver for it over the Internet, making installing a monitor much easier.
Turn off your computer and Samsung monitor. Plug the monitor into your PC's VGA or DVI port with the proper cord. Plug the monitor into an external power source if one is needed.
Connect any audio cables from your PC to the Samsung monitor. Connect the "L" and "R" ports to left and right external speakers and the "Stereo" port to your PC's audio port.
Turn on your monitor and PC. Log in to your computer as the administrator. Right click on the desktop and select "Personalize."
Click "Display Settings" and select "Advanced Settings." Select the "Monitor" tab and click on "Properties." Click "Continue."
Select the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver." Select "Browse my computer for driver software" and, in the next window, click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
Select "Generic PnP Monitor" and click "Next." Click "Close" when the installation is complete and restart your PC.
