How to Install Realtek Wireless Device Drivers

by TS Jordan

Realtek is a maker of wireless cards, but there is more to installing a wireless card than merely plugging the device into your computer. A driver file is also needed to identify the product to your computer and tell the computer the best method for interfacing with the hardware. Installing this device driver is a fairly straightforward process that can be done in minutes.

Place the Driver CD into your computer's CD drive.

Open the "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel."

Click on the "Device Manager" and open the menu for "Network Adapters."

Double click on your Realtek wireless card.

Select the "Drivers" tab and press "Update Driver."

Click on the option to locate the driver at a specific location.

Click on the drive letter of your CD drive.

Reboot the computer when the installation completes.
