How to Install a Blu-Ray Player With a Cable DVR Box
By Jason Taetsch
Blu-Ray players and cable DVR set-top boxes connect to your home theater system in a similar fashion. Use the high definition inputs on your TV to hook up the devices for the best results.
Install Blu-Ray Player
Plug one end of an HDMI cable into the "HDMI OUT" port on the rear panel of the Blu-Ray Player. Insert the other end of the cable into one of the "HDMI IN" ports on the TV's input panel.
Install Cable DVR Box
Run the coaxial cable from your Cable TV service to the "TV IN" jack on the rear of the Cable DVR box. If your TV and cable box have additional HDMI inputs, use an HDMI cable to connect the box to your TV.
Considerations
Use a set of HD component cables to make the connection for your Cable DVR box if you do not have any HDMI ports available. Component cables also transfer high definition signal but use more cables than the singular HDMI interface, and do not carry audio signals on their RGB cables.
