How to Install Altec Lansing Series 100 Speakers
By Dean Lee
The Altec Lansing Series 100 speakers were designed to be relatively low cost but high quality speakers. The speakers came in two different options: either the 120i or the 121i. The difference between the two is that the 120i is a 2.0 speaker setup, meaning there is no subwoofer. The 121i is a 2.1 setup and uses an active subwoofer, which means that it has its own built-in amplifier.
Step 1
Place the speakers on either side of the computer monitor/screen. The speaker with the volume controls goes on the right side of the monitor.
Step 2
Connect the wire coming out of the left speaker to the input jack on the back of the right speaker. There is only one input jack on the back of the right speaker.
Step 3
Connect the wire coming out of the right speaker into the headphone port on your computer, or if the speaker system you have includes a subwoofer, connect the wire to the back of the subwoofer.
Step 4
Connect the included speaker wire with green tips from the green input jack on the subwoofer to the headphone jack on the computer.
Step 5
Plug the speakers to an electrical socket. If you have a subwoofer, connect the power cord coming out of the subwoofer to the electrical outlet. If you do not have a subwoofer, connect the AC adapter from the back of the right speaker to the electrical outlet.
